Ever wonder how celebs like or look “done” even before they’ve applied their makeup?

From micro-blading to lip blushing and Stardust liner, cosmetic tattoos have become more commonplace, giving new meaning to the pop culture term ‘I woke up like this,’ made popular by Beyoncé.

After working in the field for over 7 years, training with the very best, and perfecting one skill set at a time, the Austin-based expert is the answer to rolling out of bed looking radiant.

BOLD BEAUTIFUL BROWS

According to Andrea, the most common request is thicker, fuller brows.

‘Its amazing to see a person’s confidence skyrocket with new brows,’ said the artist who has perfected her skillset working with some of the top artists in the US.

Adding: ‘It’s the main reason I’m obsessed with this job.’

A brow technician must posses vision as it’s up to the artist to ‘create a brow that enhances the client’s natural brow shape and fullness while framing the eye perfectly.’

Andrea urges anyone considering this service to do their research.

Read client reviews on the technician and ask to see pictures of their work, then take your top three to the appointment.

‘A great artist will hold your hand through the appointment and answer all of your questions, give you their protocol and insure that you leave with the right aftercare instructions’

‘Word of mouth Is probably the best way to go,’ she shares.

‘If you have a friend or a family member that has been to someone you can see their results and ask them questions like how long the artist has been doing PMU.’

Andrea advises making sure your artist is working under a state tattoo license and statewide health regulations to ensure a clean work space.

‘Always look at the needle that is being used on you, make sure it is new and in a package.

She sees longer results with dryer skin types, revealing that a client with oily skin will need more frequent touch-ups.

Are there any risks?

Let your artist know if you have any allergies or if you are on any medication including topical skin creams.

She suggests asking for a patch test with ink and numbing cream if you feel like there may be a possible allergic reaction, but says experienced artist know what to look for.

‘Nano needles create an airy, natural makeup look. Not that old school saturated, solidified tattoo makeup we are used to seeing.’
